Are sugar gliders the right pet for you?
Sugar Gliders are not for everyone, but if you have the time, commitment, and love they are amazing little creatures. Sugar Gliders are nocturnal marsupials and are native to Indonesia and Australia where they live in colonies. They are very social animals and do best with at least one other sugar glider living with them. Sugar Gliders can live up to 15 years in captivity, so please keep that in mind before bringing them into your home. Two sugar gliders would require a cage that is at least 24" deep by 24" wide by 36" tall. Bigger is always better though. Make sure the bar spacing is no larger than 1/2" wide. They will also require a special diet (Info can be found on our glider necessities page), plenty of enriching toys, a safe cage set, and a glider safe wheel. Bonding pouches and pop-up tents are a great way to spend time with them to bond and to play. Please research as much as you can before deciding if sugar gliders are the right pet for you.
